Very difficult to get your head around why the dog turd did not just shoot himself first. Nearest I can get to it is he must have had a warped feeling that he will get some sort of immortality by being remembered after he has gone - in that he succeeds with the 27 x many parents and relatives who will never let a day go by without cursing that mongrel. Perhaps Australia better think about improving the access to mental health treatment because there are surely some home grown loonies out there with very sick engines in their head who need to be recognized and stopped NOW not after the next tragedy.

The problem is an imbalance of force combined with a fundamentally degraded and sick society. Just one gun in the hands of a teacher or security person could have saved those innocent lives, which has been demonstrated over and over again, most recently in a would be mall shooting which was thwarted by a GOOD person with a concealed carry. The true purpose of the second amendment is so that the people have a means to depose a corrupt government if it ever became despotic. They werent worried about invasion at that time, however during WW2 a Japanese general said something like "America cant be invaded because there will be a rifle behind every blade of grass" (paraphrase). One thing is for sure, the US government is despotic, and the only thing standing in their way is the millions of guns in the hands of citizens. Sure the CT shooting is a terrible tragedy, but every day the US, NATO, Israel et al bomb the **** out of innocent people including children. Tragedy vs statistic and all that. Fact is people know and care about what the media tell them to. Would things change if every day the victims of drone strikes or imperial wars of agression were sensationalised the way these shootings are? It makes me worry about the future when as soon as someone gets shot the fake liberals come out of the woodwork to bleat about gun control, you are playing directly into their hands. Wheres the sense and where does it stop? If you are going to paint with such a broad brush why not ban cars Cigarettes and alcohol, for those kill FAR more people a year than guns all over the world. Children included. The only way to solve the problem is for good people to posess, carry and most importantly be educated about firearms. That way the bad people think twice about comitting their crimes because of the "rifle behind every blade of grass".

That "study" is so ridiculous it hardly warrants a response. A control group of 677 people, in one city, in a nation of over 300,000,000 people. LOL

"The research team concluded that, although successful defensive gun uses are possible and do occur each year, the chances of success are low." So according to these jellyfish sitting in a university somewhere you need to just lay down and die. If someone shoots at your family, just let them. If someone starts shooting at a school full of kids, you just let them do it. After all "the chances of success are low". That's what you would do isn't it Smashy?

Coming out of the woodwork indeed, sure enough the morally bankrupt "know it all in chief" comes and pastes a link and presto, instant disproof of ANY argument.
And because in the Smash dictionary "research" consists of nothing more than googling, reading the headline cop+paste, you failed to see this:

“The US has at least one gun for every adult,” notes Branas. “Learning how to live healthy lives alongside guns will require more studies such as this one. This study should be the beginning of a better investment in gun injury research through various government and private agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control, which in the past have not been legally permitted to fund research ‘designed to affect the passage of specific Federal, State, or local legislation intended to restrict or control the purchase or use of firearms.’”

I wonder why police carry guns? Why does the military use guns? Why don't they just listen to the epidemiologists and run into battle with their bare hands and try to scare the enemy into submission..

    ROFL.
