PG/VG Ratios, Your preference & recommendations

    Hi guys and gals,

I just wanted to know what PG/VG ratio everyone prefers in their mixes?

As I've been learning about mixing I've seen all different mixes and a lot of it seems to be down to preference. I've got all the basics like why someone might want a high VG mix, how to mix, adding nic etc. But since my mod hasn't arrived I haven't been able to develop a preference for myself.

So what ratios do you prefer in your mixes? Is there a particular PG/VG ratio you would suggest a newbie tries?

I'm probably going to stick with 50/50 for my first mix or two, but I'm interested to know what you guys like

    Cheers

I started on PG/VG 70/30 5 years ago and stayed there. All our gear and recipes are setup for that ratio. Higher VG mutes my mints and menthols plus i find higher VG sits too heavily on my lungs so I stay with what I know works. (Higher PG ratio)

    Im the opposite to XX

I started on 70PG, and gradually moved to higher VG.
I now sit on 70VG/30PG, as I have found that works best in my setups and with my DIY mixes.

It's always an interesting give and take with the base ratio's. So much of the new gear is designed for high VG, more air, new wicking materials and bigger coils. My little tootle puffing MTL 2 sec fairy vapes just can't get them working. Having said that it's pretty hard to DL 70PG without a harsh Vape.

I chop and change between 50/50, 70/30 and right up to 80/20 high VG. Dependant on time of day, how I'm feeling, which tank/mod combo I'm using, and whether I'm vaping flavour or, as is my want, unflavoured.

Unflavoured at 70-80 VG is smooth, sweet and lovely.

I started on 80PG20VG 5 years ago, and have greatly increased my VG to 25% since then But then I only MTL, and want the throat hit and flavour that a high PG % gives me

    Awesome, thanks everyone
Looks like everyone has their preference, I'll have a few combinations to try when I start mixing it looks like

I chose to dive straight into mixing my own because it sounded like good fun mixing and matching flavours and ratios, so I'm excited to experiment and see what I like. I think playing around with flavours and stuff will help me stick with vaping too

I started mixing my own about 6 months ago and love making juice up.
Currently mixing VG/Pg at 80/20 + 3mg nic, but with a concentrate added would bring it back to about 75/25 I think (still a newbie)
As a suggestion, don't get too complicated with your recipes as quite often a simple mix works better and is cheaper plus is easier to replicate.
Write everything down as it's too easy to forget what you did.
Hope you keep it up ? Cheers

I started with 50vg/50pg mixes, went to 60vg/40pg ended up at 70vg/30pg these days.

Doubt I will take it much further as I have my juice well adjusted at the moment.
