    burnt lips

How do I prevent spit backs.

Not enough juice - dry hit
Too much juice - spit back
Ive read that increasing wattage helps - try it, kind of worked, but the vape is too hot now.

How can I find a balance?

Is there a better way to wick the coil?

    hang on.

Am I supposed to only drip on the wick surrounding the coil?

Ive been dripping directly onto the coil

Dripping around the coil seems to have improved it.

That should be fine. The Clapton fills up with liquid anyway, it is self wicking.

I do find Claptons spitty if they are holding too much liquid. That's why I mostly just use a standard round wire spaced coil. Nice and smooth.

Apart from that, you might need to use more Rayon - it doesn't swell when wet like cotton does. It needs to be as tight in the coil as you can get it... and that's another problem with complex builds because the resistance to having a tight wick pulled through can be greater.

I think dripping onto the coil could cause spitting depending on how high your watts are. I only make sure the wick gets wet when dripping & this is how the squonkers work too.
I've seen reviews of low ohm coils where they use them in sub ohm mode & really complain about spitback but when I've tried the same coil at about 15w there's no spit back at all. Of course I don't produce large amounts of vapour either.
