Mr. SP (GT) could offer an opinion on the wick capabilities of Tencel

If he ever COULD HAVE BLODDY TWISTED IT into a wick it would have been wonderful.

Bwahahahahaha. And the prize would be more tencel and another nautilus RBA (only if I can find the one I threw down the back of our block)

OMG. Let me wipe the tears of glee from my eyes.

Was just reading into tencel wicking and everyone saying how much of a pita it is to wick. Everyone pretty much saying stick to rayon.

This stuff is the most glorious silky threads of tencel you have ever seen and I am sure if I COULD HAVE BLODDY TWISTED IT into a wick it would have been wonderful.

So my one time offer to 3 people who are up for a challenge .......... I will send some to you to try. Just be the first three callers and I will post to you a sample of this wonderful wicking fibre. And thats not all if you can wick it, explain how you did it and take photos of a working build ......

I will send you some more. LOL

This has the potential to be as funny as the Nautilus RBA
Perhaps it needs to be spun into a clapton. We'll need to start up a show us your wick porn thread, for this.

Oooooh... interesting! A new thing! I've not even heard of Tencel before.

All may not be lost - have you tried treating it like silica? Grab a bit about twice as long and half as thick as you need. Make a "U" bend in the end of a scrap bit of wire. Grab middle of wick with U bent wire, use that to drag wick through coil.

I used to use that method for silica and ekowool all the time back in "the day", and neither of those materials could be compressed, twisted, or otherwise persuaded to form a pointy pokey end to thread through a coil. Always worked a treat .
