    Australia Post tracking

    Hi all,

This is sort of related to the "annoying postman" thread, but I was wondering if anyone knows how AusPost's tracking system works as far as international parcels are concerned.

I am waiting on a Mt Baker order via USPS which does not have tracking info once the package has left the USA. When I plug the tracking number into AusPost's tracking thingo I get a "Product not trackable" message.

Order was made on 19 December and shows as departed USA on 27 December.

Am I panicking too early? Should I go postal?

    Kev

Pretty much no tracking after leaving the states. Will track once landed at your local AP distribution center. Next thing is "On Board with Driver"

Correct, no tracking once it leaves the US, then one day it will be in your mailbox.

I should have said - then one day it will be in your mailbox... if you're lucky!

USPS have their own tracking site.
I use an app that has lots of different postal services from all over the world but it still depends on if it gets scanned and entered in the system though, so it's not perfect.

I buy a lot of stuff online and I hate hate hate Auspost. Recently, I have had stuff from DHL which specifies signature on delivery and it has been left on the front door step. I think the parcel post business has gone through the roof and there are too many Ya Hoo's doing as little as possible to "earn" their coin. I have no front fence, so the security is nil. Thank Dog for my furkids.

As for USPS - it is gone until it hits land - which land could be the problem.

Once it leaves the States there's no tracking. Even with USPS. I had both USPS and AusPost in my tracking app. USPS tracked it until it left the States, AusPost never tracked it to begin with. 10 days from sent to delivery for me, it'll just turn up
