My experience with SS wick vs. silica ?

I find the two so different I'm not even sure if it should be like that. When I use SS wick (using DID clone) I need to bump up power from my usual 6watts to 9watts to get similar vape. The juice tastes sweeter and cleaner, TH is little sharper and vapor is about 1/3 less to what I'm getting from Silica wick on the DID.
Is that how vape should be on SS wick? I can't decide if I like it or not :-) but I do enjoy the "thought" of not inhaling Silica particles.

you shouldn't get less vapor from ss mesh, matter of fact fresh off newly built setup ss mesh deliver more vapor. ( I'm on 50/50 ratio)

have you lined up your airhole with your wick? any shorts on your wick? whats your resistance reading with and without wick?

I'm vaping on 7 to 7.5 watt and have no need to bump higher than that (mainly due to amp restriction on evic, but 7.5 would have produce lots of vapor already)

Yes at the same ohms vaper should be more if anything with a meshwick. Perhaps you are making a higher ohm mesh setup?

I got 1.3 ohm coil with 4 wraps. No shorts or hot spots, all 4 wraps glow evenly and I read 1.3 ohm with the wick removed. No dry hits or flooding either. But I must be doing something wrong because after a while I began to really dislike it and replaced it with silica wick again which breaks up like a Porcupine when I do a loop on top and that's so annoying to look at.
