    Building a coil advice

My current coil for my RSST is two wraps of .16mm around 400 mesh.

Don't know what resistance as my Vamo won't register a coil under 1.2 ohm.

What are the advantages or disadvantages if I go 3 wraps?

Higher resistance.........larger wick coverage.......what other factors?

You have a issue then, I use my vamo as a resistance checker, it wont fire with ultra low res loads, but it will read them fine. I used my one for the 2 rebuildables I have going at the moment which are 0.6 and 0.7 ohms respectively. It wont fire with less that 1.3ohms load, but it reads them just fine.

Im still a complete noob when it comes to coils (only been doing rebuildables for 2 days) but i did 4 wraps and sitting at 1.3ohms. Done a few below 1.0 but yeh wouldnt fire on evic.

I am also interested in why more or less wraps and what differences it makes

4 wraps shouldn't give you 1.3 you probably have shorts somewhere. It should read between 1.6 to 1.8

Less wraps will result in lower resistance which on mechanical mods will give you higher wattage vaping. On vw device it probably don't matter much as you can set your own wattage regardless of resistance

Also lower resistance means you are using higher amp and it drain the batt quicker too
