    groove switching itself off

don't know why it's doing it. 3 times now since I charged it and started using it yesterday arvo. just turns off for no reason. I know it's probably got a safety cut out if I hold the button longer than 10 secs or something, but I never take that long of a pull on it, and i'd know if I was holding the button accidentally, cos i'd hear the hiss/crackle of the clearo. any ideas why it might be doing this?

    1. It's pining for home
    2. You are somehow allowing the fire button to be pressed 5times within 2 seconds
    3. It's jealous of your Vamo
    4. It's not well and needs fixing
    5. Battery low
    6. Atty has intermittent short and it's protecting itself
    7. The runaway home circuit is about to kick in, lock it up tonight or it's off to FM
    8. You don't suck enough

    1. possible
    2. that's what I thought it might be until this time it happened. was conscious of how I was using it cos I was tasting a new flavour in my f17 and definitely had just taken a normal pull
    3. if anything should be jealous, it's the vamo. it's getting a bit neglected at the moment
    4. that would make me very sad
    5. battery showing 3.8v
    6. it's happened with at least 2 different attys
    7. I lock up well every night. and i'm doing my darnedest to make it feel right at home here
    8. uh uh ... I won't say that

I guess there's no use sucking if it's not going to fire..

I know there's no point sucking if it's not firing. but the first 2 times it turned off, I didn't realise and it took a lil bit for me to figure out what had happened. this last time, I actually saw it do it ... it just came up with SMOK on the screen and that was it, it was off.

things have been addressed. so there

Mine does this too for no reason, from time to time. No biggie. More of a bother to me is that the button gets a bit stuck from time to time. The button seems a bit cheap. Ah well, it's good otherwise.

Kay, sadly I think your Groove may need attention.
Oh, one last thing, when it turns off, does the "SMOK: [wait wait wait] System: off" message scroll past?
If it does, then that the normal mode for yours, if it just reads SMOK and that message stays static until it disappears then the circuit is definitely not happy and needs to be dealt with.

Sorry about the whole sucking thing, well not sucking wholes but you know, umm. edit this line out later.

s'ok mrg. just didn't want this to go the derailed way that so many things seem to go before I hopefully got some answers. the system off message did not scroll past at all. just SMOK then nothing. what does that mean? i'm priming a brand new carto to stick in the other f17 and i'll see how that goes. I mean, it's not a huge problem, really, I guess, but it shouldn't be happening, should it. *bottom lip quivers*
