Hrmm...is there really any difference between "Ekowool" and normal silica rope?

I find that the weave provides more "pockets" for the juice to be absorbed than twisted silica. It also is much less prone to fray. Lastly, it also can be used as a mesh or cable sheath if you're into that.

But the material is the same..just a different weaving method?

I'm keen to give the ecowool a try, does it wick faster than normal silica?
I have been getting quite a few dry hits on attys that pull the juice up to the coil when i take a few toots.

Yes, from my understanding the actual material is the same. But as the medium itself doesn't absorb any liquid, it comes down to the surface structure to determine its ability to hold juice.

For those who haven't seen it before:

    Regular silica wick:

I've only been using it in drippers, and the additional volume of juice it can carry is impressive.

I tried it in a genny wick with not as much success. Mesh still beats it there. However I remember seeing a video of a guy proving that ekowool wicks faster than regular silica wicks. I'll try and find it.

Some people say the ekowool has a superior taste, myself I can't really tell. It does a good job still and at worst it is worth giving it a go
