O__O One of the RSST ones say 304mmx304mm........... that's a 30cmx30cm sheet, wouldn't intirely trust this but I guess if there's like 3 or 4 people using the same-ish measurements then it's a good start.

yeah i think they fucked up. probably meant 34mm or they're used to using inches and just seriously stuffed up.

why what do you use for the RSST? (got one coming in the mail)

Don't have an RSST, picking 1 up next month but gonna use stainless steel cable rope, just gonna skip over the whole mesh thing.

yeah i dived in on the mesh front...bought a bunch. I think i'll stick with it for a bit...get it right....then move on to other wicking methods.

i've heard that cable can wick better than mesh and that is a good thing.

i guess i'll need mesh if i ever decide to move to cable...

although i wonder whether the cable/ecowool combo would wick even faster than cable by itself??

Unless you're going sub-ohm which I and probably most of the AVF community don't recommend, SS wire rope will be able to keep up even at 100%VG. Mech + cable should be able to last much longer than eko + cable which means less recoiling, don't think I've heard of anyone saying their stainless steel wire rope broke down on them yet, so for all we know it'll last forever, just take them out even few months and torch it. The stainless steel mesh should be able to last for a good 3 months as well from what I've read.

I've decided to skip the RSST last night and move onto the real thing, the AC9, which has a 3.5mm wick hole, bigger than the RSST by a millimetre so I'm assuming bigger wick hole = bigger wick = more juice = more vapour.

i was wondering how bit the wick hole in the RSST is.

i've not heard a bad word about the AC9.

the reason i was bringing up the wicking was because i was hoping if i found the best method i wouldn't have to tip the PV...was hoping i could find something that would wick vertically fast enough for chain vaping...

mind you i think, from what i gather, if i'm not worried about clouds, which i'm not, then mesh, rope or even silica will do the job. I'm after throat hit and stainless steel mesh is supposed to be good for that.

i like the idea of stainless cable though...sounds indestructible.

Eh, I find that the more vapour the more throat hit and flavour, like when you take a BIG mouthful there's more throat hit that a normal pull. If you look up JCWests video on YouTube about stainless steel cable wick he pretty much explains it all.

And the RSST's wick hole is about 2.5mm.

i'm watching the video by JCwests...

i didn't realise cable wicked quite that well. that's awesome.

the ribbon wire combo looks good.

yeah it almost sold me...almost had me running off to bunnings looking for some cable...

but i need to learn the basics first...figure i'll do it the hard way first and take it from there.

someone mentioned needing more airflow with cable cos the cable heats up and retains heat?

also why didn't he have the cable going all the way to the bottom of the tank? you can get away with that on the rsst.

what about this video i found?
