    Battery for Chi You Clone

As the title suggests, I'm wondering what type of battery I need to get for my Chi You clone. I purchased an 18650 from Jaycar, thinking that an 18650 is an 18650 but the 18650 I got simply wont fit and I have managed to render a new $20 battery unsafe from the Chi You stripping off the insulation as I tried, in vain, to insert the battery.

So, I guess I need an 18650 battery that fits. Where should I get one from that is guaranteed to fit the Chi You?

    Thanks in advance.

Pic below show the insulation stripped off the base and a little bared on the top.

Didn't realise they were protected, said nothing about it on the box or battery (afaik).

Thanks for the info though. Would any unprotected 18650 fit then? Or should I get one from a e-cig vendor to be sure?

    Cheers.

efest fits, panasonic ncr fits, wouldnt recomend the panasonic cgr as the bottom isnt insulated and i think silverx had issues with it. There is no insulator on the bottom button of the chi you, so make sure your battery sides are insulated.

I was able to remove the protection circuit from the battery and it now fits and works. Yes, I know, but I have played with electricity my whole life.

I will source 'proper' unprotected batteries if I decide to use the Chi You, but so far I don't rate it at all. But that's probably more to do with the Protank II not working on it.

    Cheers.
