    rsst help

I have an rsst which I have built, half succesfully.

using 7x7 2mm ss rope. Mesh at top. 0.5 ribbon kanthal. 4/5 wrap at 1.2ohm.

wick well, very well. Nearly too well.

Coil is neat. Glows pretty well.

but it spits, tastes slightly harsh (even with cut down nic), not metallic like hot spot.
decent vapor. But no better than my protank on mech mod , 2.2ohm... and the vg is higher on rsst

doesnt seem to work on my mech mod too good.
    using vamo at 6-7watts.

    any helps appriciated

Hot leg? Much distance between where your wire leaves the wick and makes contact with the post or deck? Try minimising it.

Doesnt seem to be a hot leg.

checked a couple of times, will check again tho.

its right against the insulated wick hole to the deck, quite close to the deck also.
wick leaning towards the centre post , but not touching

Good to see ya got the wick :-) is ya first wrap too close to the deck? Do ya have round kanthal to try? Never had spitting from mine so can't help much but I know it works great with round kanthal and the ss rope.
Sometimes i pull out the wick carefully with the coil still attached and torch them together... Not sure if it does anything but it works for me. Guess that won't help for ribbon tho. It's too springy yeah?

I have to ask, is the coil glowing with juice on the wick?
If so, that would be the major issue, add some more info to help us help you!

    Dont know what wrong.

wont glow unless I keep the juice tilted away, and fire repeatedly until the juice burns off.
i tried 30g round kanthal. It was worse.

    I think its over wicking.

Should I wrap the coil to cut into the mesh slightly ?

the ribbon looks nice and flat against the mesh.

    maybe needs tighter ?

I think its oxidised well, juice burned it few times, and when the coils glow, it doesnt transfer to the wick

Keep trying fella. Took me a few goes to get it sorted. Now I can rip it out, re wrap and fill in about 5 to 10 mins. Haven't touched the protanks since I got mine:-)
