Agree wholeheartedly. I found the taste extremely clean and sharp. The rayon FAD gave me as a sample was close but prefer the mesh. I haven't tried the rope. It's all blurr now but somewhere I saw or read that if you taste metal then you are not vaporising the Eliquid properly. Too low or too high or hot spots. I don't change the method that worked and I just do the same thing all the time now.

coils: space nice and evenly - not too tight, if they are too tight you will strangle the wick and it wont....wick

never tried silica in a genny so can comment on that

just use the pulse method. If u taste metal flavor, it is definitely hot spot, or dry hit.

Mesh or SS rope in a genny, that's what it's made for.
If you want to use cotton or whatever then use an atty that's made for cotton.

Try a mesh wick, once you figure it out & get it right you'll forget cotton.

I've got a fastech kraken, it's pretty ordinary, Hcigar is much better.
Having said that the fastech works just fine after fixing all the leaks.

i find that making your coil small, i mean spaced small apart much better then far apart. I've always have to take out 1 nut from the center post just to make it shorter. Picture tells a thousand words.

I've tried the mesh and could never get it to work. I frankly find it more effort than I can put into this. I finally got some proper ekowool and that wicks fine until the wick hole....probably because its pretty well the exactly diameter as the wick so it's choking there. I might drill it out a bit because for that initial hit it does give a nice result until the burning starts!

If you're going to use cotton or silica in a genesis atomizer the wick should not go down far into the tank. You should probably try the so-called "auto dripper" method. Just have the silica poking through into the tank a few millimeters and tilt the thing occasionally to wet it.
