    First mech

    Hi guys,

Looking to get a Stringray X mech from FT as well as a Magma RDA. Don't know a great deal about mechs or rda's, furthest I've come to vaping is a kayfun on my provari.

Questions are what type of batteries do I need, preferably from FT and what else must I know?

    Thanks.

As much as I love FT, don't buy you batteries there. Besides waiting an eternity you really don't know what your getting, especially for use in a mech. Buy locally. supersports600 on eBay is a member here and only sells quality stuff. Not worth trying to save a few buck for the price of safety.

    Cheers for the reply Merexy,

Does the mAh or nipple/flat tops make any difference as to the one I'm after?

Also, how would I be wanting to build the Magma, what ohm would I be chasing?

VTC5's would be my recommendation. Highest mAh you can afford. Ad says it will accept flats or button tops.

You're beginning with the Magma I'd suggest going with a single coil to start with, you can set the air holes for single coils. Myself, I wouldn't be going below 1.4ohms 'til your sure you know what you're doing. Just my thoughts.

I have both of the products you've listed, they are both great... the stingray is better than nemesis as a starter imo.
the magma might not be the best 1st rda though maybe a 3 post one is better to start off if it is you're first...
but yeah VTC5 is def the best for batteries, stock up!

stingray clone is better than a nemesis clone
offer up a dual coil clone dripper as a first buy
    vtc5 batts are the best

and to think we had an 11 page locked thread earlier today .

Get the Hcigar stingray clone, it's the best of the clones.

    This one ? $26.26 Stingray X Style Stainless Steel + Copper Mechanical Mod - 18350 / 18500 / 18650 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

says ships in 7 days, i'd wait till it says "ships next day" the black copper 1:1 is the same. I have this setup with the 1:1 magma and i love it, haven't used anything else, had to make sure the contact in the switch was tight, bit of plumbers tape on the thread did the trick and that's it. Like they said, buy the batts locally, looks like SS600 has vtc4 at the moment or vtc5 with solder tabs, i'm sure the tabs could be removed.
