    Omega Tigre 28g Wire . . .

    HELP !!!

Got some of this funky twisted wire from VK - according to the specs - 6 wraps at 2.4mm - single coil- should result in a 0.9 Ohm coil . . . . tried two coils - checked on 3 x VW devices (MVP, ZNA, Dovpo) - and Ohm Checker - come in at 0.5 Ohms ?? . . . ..

    Double and triple checked for shorts etc .. . . . doesn't make sense . . .

Anyone else using this wire ? Are your build matching the specs they give ??

    TIA

I had the same problem - it does come out at a lower resistance rating than said on the packet.

Did it go up when fired and squeezed?

    It did - a bit - only up to around 0.53 from 0.46 !! - that's read on my ohm checker . . . still nowhere near what the doco claims .. . .

Think I'll end up going back to twisting my own 28 g Kanthal for the Kayfuns - and keep the Omega for the Magma . . . .

I use this wire and seems to be pretty much spot on for me but it does take a bit of tweaking. But i do build low, i really like duel parallel 5 wrap on a 2.5 bit. comes in at .11 and has some mad flavor with plenty of vapor.
Apparently I have to be a sheep or get punished.

Might depend on what you are putting it in, if i use the same wire with the same wraps etc i get different results depending what i'm building on.

I tried 2 different Kayfun ... Both 6 wraps at 2.4mm - both ended up at around 0.5 ohms? Checked on 3 different devices too - just in case - I have had readings all wobbly when device batteries are low.... I've dropped a note to VK - hopefully they can shed some light....????

I'm new at all this but couldn't you just do more wraps to up the ohms?

I like 7 to 8 wraps on whatever I do. I alter the gauge or diameter to get the resistance I want.

The problem is that most guides are set with a 5mm leg length the leg length on a kayfin would only be a couple of mm. Also are you counting your first and last half wrap as a wrap? Because I dont think that the guide counts that as a wrap
