    Ultrasonic cleaners - thoughts?

    Hi All,
Was just reading in another thread of using an ultrasonic cleaner for tanks etc, and even coils.
Just wondering who does this, what you are using and if you recommend it?

Xmas is coming and wife needs some thoughts, and a quick ebay search shows 2 liter ones starting at around $100 - if they work, this seems an excellent idea !

Personal opinion only. I am one of the brigade of use and then toss. For what a new coil costs these days I don't see the allure of extending the life by cleaning. I can understand those that do but it's not for me and an ultrasonic cleaner would be just one of those extra gadgets that find themselves played with and then relegated to that cupboard at the top of the pantry.

Hi Skoville, my wife purchased a 2 ltr one off ebay and it works brilliantly. It has more power then the majority of similar devices on the site and she got it new on an auction for $70. I have used it for cleaning parts and rapid steeping juice.

I previously had a cheap plastic one that burnt out very quickly; this one has far more power and I can definitely recommend getting one.

Excellent for vape gear, coils and the Mrs jewellery. Very good for removing that machine oil taste from new gear.

Get one! Apart from the obvious of cleaning your vape gear, they are good for mixing juice, plus:

I bought mine originally for cleaning gold I find.
They also do a fantastic job of cleaning glasses and jewellery.
Whatever else you want to clean and can fit in there they will do it.
    Only limited by your imagination.

Mine was only a cheapy from Aldi. Three years and still going strong, if it breaks it's earned its keep. I'll just get another if it does. The princely sum of 30 bucks!

Yep what everyone above has said .. plus you get the bonus of giving it to your missus " For Jewellery Cleaning " * cough * cough *

The one you linked looks the goods , you might find it slightly cheaper at auction , but its good value even at that price posted

50W should be ample ... mines only a 40 and does a good job on stuff

How do they work? Do you need a special solution or just water?
