    variable wattage or voltage module

    Hi all,

I am seriously considering building a wood mech mod, however adding a variable wattage module (i.e. kick, or alternatively variable voltage module) that also includes safety features. At this point in time coil resistance would be 1.6 OR 1.8ohm. In terms of battery to use, that will be dictated by the module specs and how big I want it.

Are there any suggestions out there for modules, I found this so far:

Ideally max power would be 15W or higher (ideally 20W). For a variable voltage module this would mean 5.2V or higher (ideally 6V) based on 1.8ohm coil.

I am assuming that just like batteries, modules have a max safe discharge current they can handle.

    Cheers,
    Nev

No sub-ohming or crazy stuff here, only a typical clearo to use in a compact package.

Also I understand that you need to remove the battery when charging, when you use a module. Although not mandatory, is there anything out there that has a charging function? If not that's cool.

The kick is not the best choice for a box mod as its primarily used in tube mods. The fact you state mechanical mod confuses me as a true mechanical mod should use no electronics. Anyway this board would be better suited to your minimal needs and its available in various flavors from the same people.
