    alll good Melb

quick question then... ive watched a few vids on rebuilding the atlantis coils with 26g and making a micro coil... but when i do it wrapping on a 3/16 screwdriver with 26g and 9 wraps, then heating and pinching coil and all looks great... it comes out between 1.4 and 1.6 ohms...

i dunno what im doing wrong

Well, 26g with 8/9 wraps would always read out to something like that. 1.2 1.4 try with less wraps.

see thats where i was confused too... cause as per steam engine where i do my calculations so i dont damage stuff... it even says there that it would be around that... but on the vids ive seen i copy them to a t and i cant get mine to come out like theirs.... just confusing and frustrating.

but still being new to building micro coils im sure im doing something wrong

Man just keep experimenting! As soon as you get the hang of it you should just play around with. And don't copy the youtube vids coz they might be using a different brand of kanthal or whatever and it will always differ. Ie, my 26g kanthal I bought from VE reads differently from my anarchist 26g kanthal. So yeah! Do your own thing and play around.

Try a thinner diameter screw driver.
Naturally the thicker the screwdriver, the more wire is used per wrap meaning a higher ohms
