    The DNA200 by Evolve

Evolv are set to release their new board, the DNA200. Still in Beta testing at the moment but details are starting to surface.

The following has been paraphrased from beta tester quotes........

By default it supports a 3s Lipo, but it also supports a 3S LifePO4, or you "could" use a minimum of 3 quality 18650s though Lipo is preferable.

You can use many different wires and alloys. They have the temperature coefficients programmed in for NI200, but you can program in any other set of TCRs you like via the software.

The software is by far the most customizable solution from any board Mfg. There are something like 80+ variables that you can customize.

    · Battery Meter, Error Flashes, Orientation, Brightness (active, idle, & charging), Fade, Active Time, Battery Chemistry, Battery Cutoff, Ohm lock range, Preheat Time/strength, and much more are customizable.

    · Customizable screens. There are 20 different possible screens generated by the board. You can change them to say or look however you want within the limitations of a 128x32 mono screen. Don’t like the term “Stealth Mode” change it to “Hiding” or whatever.

    · You have 3 pieces of information you can display on the left of the DNA screen, and amother 3 while charging, and you can choose any of 10 different variables to display there, like ohms, voltage, temp, etc.

The best part though is that you have several built-in analyzer tools.

    · Device monitor
It monitors over 20 variables in realtime and shows them numerically as well as allowing to graph as many of them as you want. The graphs updates every second, maybe less. This thing is a total Geek’s dream! Expect people to show screencaps of this when reviewing attys and builds.

    · Atomizer Analyzer
Monitors your atty in realtime to allow to observe resistance stability.

    · Case Analyzer
Monitors several variables within your enclosure to predict performance under various charging situations.

    Input voltage requirement 9-12.6vdc
    Input current requirement 23A
    Output voltage 9vdc
Max Output current 50A continuous (55A instantaneous)
Batteries supported: 3s Lipo - 3S LifePO4 - External Power Supply, and Evolv engineers speculate that 3 high quality 18650s might work.

I have to admit, I'd be a bit hesitant seeing as the DNA40 hasn't exactly been the most reliable chip out there.

Just to add some more facts on the software (beta) from EFF:

Device Monitor feature provides real time values for:

    Battery:
    Charge (MAH)
    USB Current (chg rate)
    USB Voltage
    Pack Voltage (3S total)
    Cell 1 Voltage
    Cell 2 Voltage
    Cell 3 Voltage

    Current Puff:
    Power (reading during puff)
    Power Set (wattage setting)
    Temperature (reading of puff temperature)
    Temperature Set (temperature setting)
    Current (amp draw during puff)
    Voltage (voltage during puff)
    Board Temperature
    Room Temperature

Device Monitor also has Statistics area:
Puffs (Since Reset and Total Puffs)
Puffs Temp Controlled (Since Reset and Total Puffs)
Energy (last puff, Mean, Std, Deviation,Total) in both Since Reset and Total
Power (last puff, Mean, Std. Deviation) in both Since Reset and Total
Temperature (last puff, Mean, Std. Deviation) in both Since Reset and Total
Time (seconds) (last puff, Mean, Std. Deviation, Total) in both Since Reset and Total

Device Monitor has a “live view” where real time data graphing can be displayed as the user defines.

Data can be recorded, graphed, and recorded and graphed data can be saved. Data saved can be shared as needed.

The Power and Temperature setting on the device can be changed from Device Monitor also.

Statistics (since reset) can be reset as desired but Total will remain.

Firmware version date is also shown in Device Monitor.

I think running 3S is a pretty stupid idea. Just for form factor. Any 3S battery pack over 2000mah is massive.

Not necessarily, here is the beta test unit, reported to have a similar battery life to the hana
