    Nickel Coils/Temperature Control Queries

This may turn into a thread to throw all Ni coil & temp control questions & experiences (hence keeping the topic slightly vague), or it just may serve to have my question answered and my experience shared. Haven't seen a whole lot of talk about TC on the forums, but i haven't been around often lately.

I'm a Nautilus & iStick man through and through and whilst browsing a regular vendors' website, i noticed eLeaf released a TC mod, and VapeOnly released Nickel coils for the Nautilus so i thought i'm grab some and check it out....

Figured i'd set the temp to 200c - It's about middle of the range and i could test up and down from there. Pretty much everytime i take a 'cold puff' i cop burnt hits for the first few drags, airflow full open on the Naut.

Ok, maybe that's too high, so i drop it down to 170 and get practically no vapor production at all, feels like im vaping at about 7 watts.

Suffice to say i've resorted to using the coil in VW mode, because it's turned out pretty useless in TC mode.

Is the issue me, the eLeaf (cheap TC implementation), the Nautilus (not "designed" for sub-ohm coils) or TC in general?

    Thoughts, comments and suggestions welcomed!

Sorry to say, but the reviews say those VapeOnly coils are Scheisshaus. Even the Atlantis ones are Scheisshaus. Try the vapor shark ones. (I watched a German YouTube review on them) My head hurts now

I'm using VS TSC's in a Nauti & a Nauti clone on a Invader Mini
Oddly the Nauti clone is preforming slightly better,
& both Nauties are preforming better than any RDA/RTA coil I have tried to build.
Note to self - must build better
    Temperature, start at 400 ̊F or 230 ̊C & experiment up & down

I use the VaporShark TC coils in a Nautilus/Silo Tank and they're great, 250C and 45 watt. The higher wattage ramps the heat up quick until the TC kicks in

I have the iStick TC40W and find it to be a great little unit for the price.

My only experience in TC mode is with Ni200 in my genuine Kayfun V4.

First impression is really good and I can see a lot of potential. I just need to work on my coil configurations.

I love my Nautilus also, so I was very interested to hear about the VS coils.

Time to go shopping I think!

    Thank guys.

Not too sure about the nautilus and premade coils, but I've been using dna40 temp control for a while and never had problems with vapor production. I've been building around the 0.12-0.15 ohm mark on all my tanks (Lemo 2, Delta ii, subtank mini, and my subtank Nana's occ coil). All on 30w at 210 degrees

Thanks everyone for your input. I guess the general consensus is the VO coils are dudds. Guess i'll give the VS coils a shot before i give up on TC all together.

That'll teach me for not reading into it before purchasing! Was a spur of the moment purchase whilst at work.

What Aussie vendors have the VS coils?
