    Weird battery reading..

    How'dy all,
    Just a battery question..

I just charged an 18500 batt to 4.2. I put it in my provari, and checked battery, it came up as 3.7. Hmm. So I put it in my other provari and it reads 4.2.
Both provaris are brand new, never dropped etc...
Batteries are only a month old (genuine aw Imr from v.k)
Does this seem more like a battery issue? Charger issue? Or provari issue?
Any advice would be appreciated... Thanks guys

First thing I would suspect are dirty contacts in the lower reading provari ... now it depends also on what model your provari is ... the early ones could handle a good alcohol bath but V2 or 2.5 just be careful and make sure the alcohol only gets on the pin
    - check that the end cap spring is seated well and is clean ... look down into the provari and you will see the circuit board with the connector in the middle ... clean it carefully with some alcohol ( isopropanol if you have it ) on a cotton bud .... a pencil eraser can also be used in a pinch

Hi FluffyVapingClouds, I just read the atomizer activates at a very low voltage in battery check mode that allows the provari to check the voltage. As you are checking the battery reading from one provari to the other, it may be that one atomizer is more or less used giving you a different reading. I agree with the suggestions Fatman made as it always seems to work better with a little maintenance. The best way is to check the battery on a multimeter if you have one at hand and if it is the battery, I would contact VK as he is awesome at helping out in this situation. Hope this helps..

Thanks everyone for the help. I've stopped using it tonight and Ill watch the video (thanks fm) in the morning and see how I go.
I have some iso alcohol and buds so I'll give it a shot.

I do have a multimeter so I'll check the battery in the morning too. Thankyou all.

Really weird as everything I'm using (except the charger actually) is new

Firstly did you check the voltage with or without an Atty on top?

Without an Atty a P2 will give you the voltage of the battery under no load.
With a freshly charged battery, this should be 4.1~4.2
If it is not, clean your contacts on the battery & the P2 & try again.

A P2 will give your batteries voltage under no load,
then a second or two latter,
your batteries voltage under the load of the Atty you have on top of it.

So, with an Atty on top, you should get 4.1 or 4.2 volts initially, then it may drop to a lower voltage.
How low that voltages is, tell you just how good that battery is.
So keep an eye on it.

    note P2 = ProVari V2 or V2.5
