Kanger SSOC 0.5 coils - are they really SS?

    Hey all,

Cracked a new packet of SSOC coils and despite trying out several SS profiles on TCR mode I just can't get it to function in TC. Looking at the readings the resistance barely moves as it heats up. Looks more like Kanthal than anything. I checked the authentication and it shows to be genuine.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Nope, they're nichrome, similar to kanthal and no good for temp control at this point. Kanger's justification for calling them SSOCC was because the coil housing is made of SS, just not the coil lol.
