Another attempt to remove my face.

    My first mech/hybrid,
On the deck I noticed there were two holes for wicks....

When I built a U wick for it I realized there was no way not to touch the center post...

Now I've always been fascinated by SS mesh. It wicks well but we go to all these lengths to make sure it doesn't conduct...

    What if we embrace it?

Being a hybrid I have no way of finding out what's the resistance of the build but nothing is too warm for now.

Have you got a multimeter? Just put the prongs on both the - and + and it will give you the resistance. Remember to get the resistance of the multimeter first and deduct that from the final reading.

also with a u-wick, make the coil vertical as you did previously - wrap it around one of the upright sections - you will find it easier and it will better align with the airhole
amount saved by not smoking: $lots
amount spent on vaping: $not enough

And when rolling a u wick, cut the mesh on the diagonal to avoid kinks in the wick.

Yep it was cut diagonal but the bend was a little too tight and still linked.

With the U wick I can't get it not to touch the nuts on the center posts. I ended up using the middle of the wick as the positive contact and the ends touching the holes as the negative. So the wick became the coil. It worked but I didn't want to tempt fate so it's now a simpler 2 wicks and 2 coils

When you did a U wick, did you put a single coil or a double? also at the bend of the wick how did you manage to keep it from touching the nut and washer assembly?
