Evic VTC Mini Temp Ni Settings

Hey guys, just a quick question regarding TC mode.

Some background info: I'm running the Tron-S tank with a eGo ONE CL-Ni 0.2ohm coil, the juice in the tank is 20% PG 80% VG, and the firmware for the device has been upgraded.

So, this is my first time trying a nickel coil and after dredging the Interwebz for some info regarding the best temp/wattage settings for Temp Ni mode, I set it to 470 F at 35 W.

Regardless of how I tinker with temp and watts, protection kicks in almost immediately. Is this usual, or am I doing something wrong?

    Lock the resistance.
If that doesn't work, get rid of those coils. They are shit. The wicking holes are too small and cant keep up.
Buy the CLR coils, 10x better.

    Thanks for the advice, bro!

Yeah, I locked resistance at room temperature.

HOV is out of CLR coils, but once they restock I'll order some in.

I recently got the CLR coils for my tron tank and the difference is night and day!
Plus you can rebuild them by just replacing the cotton in the coil.

I like the sound of that. Curious about rebuilding, but sort of intimidated as well, so the simpler the better!

    Plenty of videos on youtube.
Basically just take out the old cotton and insert a new piece.

Your wicking issues won't be helped with the 80% VG either. More VG the thicker it is.

My first intro to TC was with a ego one mega tank (same coils I think) and had a terrible vape from the standard coils. I ordered some ti CLR coils which were better but still not good enough. I gave up and started using a differant tank, and that was with 50/50 juice.

    Honestly, try another tank.

Yep try a different tank, if you like running it in TC mode try a rta and dual coil build, especially with high VG.
