    Squonk concept

    Hey,

Been using tanks and drippers for a while, now sort of tempted to try out a trial squonk setup but on a smaller / budget scale.

Thinking of converting a RDA (a cheapie for the first prototype) - drill a pass hole in the side wall above the juice channels, small grommet and a pass through with a flexible tube connected to a small bladder containing juice (say similar to sushi soy sauce container). The bladder could rest (semi-attached) on top of a box mod. Somewhat universal I think?

    Anyone tried such El-cheapo?

    Cheers,
    Yuz

Such set ups were not unpopular when even reos were hard to come by.

Don't think it is the greatest proof of concept though. Bottles are remarkably finiky with how they are set up

One of the things about squonking is that when you squeeze the bottle it lets juice go into atty - but - and this is important to prevent flooding / leaking - when you release pressure on the bottle - it sucks the liquid back into the bottle ! - sometimes with a "squonk" sound !

So the idea is - squeeze - hold for a bit for wick to absorb - release - excess juice sucked back into bottle . . . .

With your side squonk idea - no drainage . . .

VFR, yeah excess drainage back into the bladder would be an be an issue...
Unless there's a volume limiter valve (say 1ml) in place?
    Anyway, just a thought.

Many attempts to redesign the wheel, even when the wheel is cheap as chips have resulted in a bumpy ride. Don't want put you off tinkering but it has to be said your time would be better spent modifying an RDA that has proven squonk potential and trying a kanger drip box with said atty.
If you want to give squonking a go then give it a fighting chance to impress.
