    Which Gauge Wire Rope/Steel Cable?

    Hi,

I imagine there won't be many people who can answer this question. But if anybody can tell me which is the most commonly used gauge/gauges of wire rope/steel cable (i.e wick) used, that would be great. I have never used it before and I need to know what size/sizes to order. Or even just what size you personally use.

    Cheers,

    Toe.

Absolutely; when I wanted to cheat that is!

You wouldn't want to leave your mod on its side for much more than a puff or two though, it will flood and run out of the tank. It is certainly a good tool to get some action up the business end if you are struggling and getting frustrated.
TTN, I think I was using a 2mm with 9 core and I also tried a thinner gauge maybe 1.5mm with 7 core, not too sure without looking at it. I would send you some but I am away until 2 August. I rate it as a very handy as a get out of jail free card. You will require a pair of cable cutters to be able to cut it. Side cutters tended to make the strands want to fly everywhere. If you don't mind holding off for a bit I can send you some when I get home?? LMK

    No worries,
    Happy to help out.

I'm not sure on the guage of the mesh but it always seemed to work well.
Watch out for hot legs on your coils, it takes a bit of fiddling about.
