What first - RDA or RTA?

I've picked out a variable mod and I've got some good leads on RTA's, can anyone give me some suggestions on what to start on first?

I was thinking of getting an RDA with a decent size to build on and a tank with prebuilt coils to get me through the day. Again suggstions on types to suit the tesla invader would be much appreciated thanks.

Generally speaking an RTA is more fiddly to fit your coil in and less forgiving, unless you are talking about the Limitless or the Avocado. I'd recommend starting with an RDA first to give yoiurself more breathing room, preferably something with a velocity style deck. In my experience the Troll V2 isn't a bad little dood to work with and not that expensive either.

Like mentioned in another thread I started with a Griffin 25 RTA with dual coil builds.

One thing to keep in mind if you're not completely confident about winding coils is you can buy them prebuilt from fast tech under their 'wicks and wire' at the correct ohms you need, also many Australian vape stores sell them.

You will need to work out if you want dual coil or single coil builds, what ohms you'd like to vape at and order in the wire or coils. You will also need some form of ohm reader for the final ohm reading, some cotton and watch a few utube vids on wicking.

Utube is an extremely valuable resource when learning to wick and make coils. They also have shootouts of the best RTA for 2015, 2016 etc.

Guys who have tried them all and give their opinions.

I'd say the Griffin has the most flavour for me, but with new cotton it may take 1/3 of a tank to shine.

Cleito is very close behind though.

I will have some RDA's coming in soon to try but I'm not sure how keen I am on dripping them juice all day. The flavour and performance would need to pretty good for me to stick with them full-time. And I'm very much about the nic hit as afterall, I was a heavy rollie smoker.

I have a pretty big selection of RDA's but honestly the RTA's are so good now I seldom bother dripping

24mm fits sweet on the Tesla, 25mm might give a little overhang.

Just something else to keep in mind

RDA to learn to build first. Then move onto the smaller decks of an RTA after some practice on a big RDA deck

    I agree with this statement.
