For your first build, six wrap spaced coils on 2.5mm ID. Should come in around 0.4 ohms for a dual coil setup.

Edit: for when you can do that easily, twisted 26g on 3.0mm

Sorry I actually checked my wire, it is actually 28 guage. Is that too thin?

Grab a metre length, fold it over in the middle, put a weight on the loose ends and spin/twist into a thicker wire

You'll get a better vape with more wire exposed to the juice....

I'm relatively new to coil building myself and have found it quite addictive and far easier than I thought.

I've found this site a must for early coil building: Steam Engine main page | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

I assume you have an ohm reader?

the mod has one built in but I'm feeling inclined to get a dedicated one

You can pick up a 510 ohm reader on eBay for $5, need to wait for shipping though.

What I purchased recently was a Geekvape 521 Tab Mini. Use it as a work station, ohm reader and fire your coils all in one.

Makes building really easy, even down to adjusting your coils before/after locking them in.

    About $35.

Coffee cup handle on the looped end, pliers holding the tails. Works well.

When I had a go at twisted wire, I used a large paper clip cut into a hook which I used a drill to spin it like crazy. The other end with pliers. Hold it taught but not super tight and spin it until it snaps. Worked a treat!
