ohhhhh ... I did it... I did do it ... for one fleeting moment I had it !

but before that .... one coil leg went <ping> and flung that little itty bitty bottom screw across the room... minus its head....

I have two black cats... one who thinks he is a dog.. and retrieves things.. and one who believes he rules the world... well his part of the world..

the retriever went to retrieve... sigh.. worried about sharp wire splinters I went to suggest it was not a good idea.. while the other, mr alpha decided.. all this stuff oh his table was intriguing... and needed a poke to make it floor bound.. the spare itty bitty screw then escaped from where I had kept it safely in its plastic bag......

30 mins later after dragging the floor with a magnet spare screw was retrieved.. I resumed.. and completed building the rba.. wicked and ready for glory !

then decided to test it out in the kabuki clone.... hmmm ... maybe the cotton was too much ... unscrewed atty... coil stuck in chimmney... and while attempting to unscrew coil the bottom pin of rba decided to escape and run free....

a few bad words later... placed it on ohm meter to see ohms running around like pixies.... and I quietly packed up everything and had a lovely gin and tonic...

    tomorrow is another day !!

Ah yes, this must feature *crushed* ice. A slice of lemon features well too. Use a serrated knife to cut lemon (try it and see).

    Gordons or Gilbeys?

Well, upon receiving a couple of Vika Fantasy tanks from XX (thank you very muchly Chris ) after not being able to find my Kabuki (geez, hope I didn't chuck it ), I finally sat down this arvo to give this a go. I think the trick is to have the legs cut to the right length, and bends in the right spot but after 5 mins I have it working

I coiled it vertically with rayon wick placed on the outside of the coil, with the coil reading 1.38Ω and the AFC screw removed completely, and sitting at 14W on a Pico 75W. It hasn't settled in yet, but vapour is quite adequate ( ) but I find the flavour slightly lacking. We shall see once it's settled in.

Thank you 1ynne for the PIF of these, they shall not be an outcast

I generally do not like a story with a happy ending... but in this case I do ! WTG GT... you are a champion ! I am so glad somebody can use them... and probably a stroke of genius to opt for a vertical coil...I hope that the Vika settles in.. they are great little tanks... and may you have many happy rebuilds of those pesky VVTF 's... truth be known.. I just re read my earlier postings... and it all came flooding back to me lol
