    Eleaf iStick 200W problem

    Hi all,

I've got the mod in TC mode at 225c. When I power it up it lights up but then hits "temp protection".

Compared to my Smok X Cube its really pathetic.

Is there a fix for this?

I might have to put it back into VW mode and get another TC mod.

Sent from my communicator on the starship Enterprise. Boldly going forward because we can't find reverse.

The baseline resistance might be wrong (too high).
Also double check the correct material is set, and maybe try a custom TCR value.

I've also has some unpredictable results if the 510 contacts are dirty.

Try a different tank or atty.

edit: Stupid me, they say it's normal once the coil reaches temperature. It's very different from my Smok X Cube which continues to burn at the set temperature. The iStick seems to bounce between firing and temp protection mode.

Is this something that has just started happening?

The only time I've something like that happen was when the coil and wick needed a burn and replace.

The only other thing I can think of is make sure the screws holding the coils are tight. With stainless steel at such a low resistance, even very tiny changes in resistance are going to mess it up.

If I was inclined to gambling (I'm not) then if it worked previously I'd put money on a complete rebuild solving the problem...

    Thanks fab.

This is the first time I've used it in TC mode.

I'm a bit slow and realised there is a big difference between my Smok and iStick. So I had a look at the display on the iStick and saw the temp protection.

I've inspected the coils and they are both good and they are screwed in pretty good.

The Smok keeps burning at the set temp but the iStick bounces off temp protection like a rev limiter and I only get one good burn per inhale. Supposedly this is normal for the iStick.

Oh, that's a bit ordinary. It doesn't sound like it's doing stainless steel well at all.

Yeah I might just have to use the Smok for TC and go back to VW on the iStick.

    Pity.

Now I'll just have to force myself to go out and buy a new TC mod!

they came to the tc party late and dont have the experience the others do

Yeah the Smok shits all over the iStick in TC.

What other mods excel at TC?
