    Therion DNA75 Battery Problems

Hi everyone, I've got a big problem with my Therion DNA75.
Only one battery will work in it (the one on the inside left), the other one doesn't work at all:/
I have to swap the right one over to the left when that has run out and apart from getting tired of doing this all the time I'm worried if it's doing harm as it's supposed to run on two batteries.
Does anyone know if this is fixable or what I should do?
    Thanks, Miri

Hi Miri, do you have a separate battery charger for these?

Check and clean the battery contacts in the mod. It sounds like it's not making proper contact on the right side. Strange problem though...

Oh, and it won't be causing any big problems for the mod, the batteries are configured in parallel 3.7V so it won't care if there's only one battery connected. It would only be an issue if you were running at 75 watts all the time.

I know this might sound like a really dumb idea, but is it at all possible that you are putting one in upside down? I have done that I have to admit...

I didn't know that Fab, you teach me something every day. I thought it would damage the mod if there was a huge difference between the battery charges...and that was why it was important to marry them?

That's true in series configured mods. If yours is series, the advice above does NOT apply.

Parallel is the safest mode because when it's working properly the cells balance each other automatically. In a series mod they can get out of whack and if there is no protection circuit in the form of individual cell monitoring this can even be dangerous.

In Miri's case it would only be a slight problem if both battery sleds suddenly made correct contact when one was fully charged and the other was empty. But then I don't know what the electrical arrangements in the mod really are. It would certainly be handy to know what's going on though. Miri has had more than her share of mod failures I think...

    Thanks everyone for your replies.
Fab, yes, I do have an LUC V4 Battery charger and they are married batteries which are always put in correctly in parallel.
I have cleaned the contacts as best I can but no go yet:/
Fab you're right re probs lol I seem to almost always choose the dud in so many electronic devices...just by chance .
My hubby and I can buy two identical devices and I often end up getting one that goes wrong for some weird reason lol.
I can't figure this one out. I've already had it sent back to the store I bought it from because there is a problem with the start button if you don't/t hit it dead centre it sticks, but they said it was a design fault! See what I mean? Lol
Anyway back to this problem, I'll RE-clean the battery terminals in the device and the batteries ( not that they need it) and see if somehow I missed something but I don't hold out much hope:/
