Long Ramp Up on Mech Kit

Hey guys, having an issue with my Tsunami Mech Kit. Ramp up time is taking a significant amount of time maybe 5-7secs or more and never seems to produce much.

I'm using the Alien Claptons from the Demon Killer 8 in 1 box. Read at 0.23, 4 wraps at 2.5mm. Coils glow pretty easy at 80w on my Rx200, but on the mech it's a long wait. And keeping the coils warm is pretty difficult. I'm using Samsung 25R in the mech.

I thought these would be considered a smallish build for the Tsunami. Any idea what could be cause the ramping issues?

Factoring in battery sag. That is likely more like 50 watts. Maybe less.

Use thinner wire for a single cell mech.

I was thinking that. I'm not sure what gauge wire are used in the pre-built coils so if I can find out I can go from there.

My experience with the Samsung 25Rs is that they do suffer from voltage sag quite badly. They are great batteries, just not great for dual claptons on a mech. You might actually find it runs better with a single coil.

Normal round wire builds will heat up faster, but on a single battery I would not recommend you go lower than 0.2 ohms total resistance. Even that leaves you with no safety margin.

I'll try some different coils tonight. Are single coil builds safe and efficient in the Tsunami?

Yes sure, I usually run it that way. Try a 0.5 ohm spaced coil. That should be around 30 watts with the 25R.

I tend to run slightly higher resistance than that for a more laid back vape, so try about 0.8 ohms if that's what you are looking for.

on my mechs I build around .15-.17 for it to be decent ramp up and vapor production.
Anything higher will need to be simple fused claptons for it to be ok, nothing intricate

So i just bought a coppervape squonker just awaiting postage. I do intend on putting a .55 ohm 226/36 kanthal fused clapton in. Will i have ramp issues with this build.
