    Clapton wire

Just a quick question i was wanting to buy some clapton wire not fussed on the style to wrap a few coils, but i wanted it to be roughly the same size as 26ga round wire or close to. So what size clapton wire would i need to buy its a bit confusing i was looking at something like this https://www.fasttech.com/product/9655890 but i think thats a touch too fine.

Maybe look at the resistance of each and try to match it per length, I can't remember if it's rated by the cm or what but if you match it that way you can use the same amount of wraps.

The one in the link is 6.71 ohms per ft so i'd imagine a slightly lower resistance per foot would mean its a touch thicker?

I see that one is Kanthal ben, did you want Kanthal or would Stainless steel be ok ? SS has a lower resistance than kanthal and tends to last longer. 26 gauge in SS is 1.7 ohm ft and kanthal is 3.45 ohm ft, big difference hey..!
Depends what sort of vape your after, MTL or DL ?

I have temp control but never use it so prob not SS so i'd probably more err towards kanthal and im still pretty much a MTL vaper not fussed on super wide open airflow or even going too low for resistance anywhere from .5 to 1 ohm or there abouts and im happy. i saw this one as well thought might be ok 26ga with a 32ga wrap https://www.fasttech.com/product/9653273

Kanthal and temperature control are not good housemates. Go SS for TC.

You can use SS in wattage mode so either way it would be OK

Sorry, just reread this when not in zombie mode, and saw that you DONT use TC.

Just ignore me, it works for Doc.

If you’re looking for dual core claptons then 28*2 gives about the same resistance as 26G. Disregard the wrapping wire in terms of resistance. Going for 0.5 to 1.0 is a wide margin for error.
