Ugly Provari
Hey guys, My black provari has received some abuse over the years and I'm wondering if anyone knows how I would go about removing the powder coating and perhaps getting a nice chrome look going?

If it's really that painful to look at, you can send it to me

Dark monk sold one recently that he buffed. Have a look in the sold section and you will see pics.
Move along!!! Nothing to see here.

Hmm thanks for the suggestion Giruvian, I'd rather have the scratches than use a stubbie holder tho
I'm thinking I might grab some Citristrip and give that a go and then buff it up.

Pull it apart. get it re-powdercoated or paint it and pull it back together or just rub it back with 600 sandpaper mask it up and give it a quick coat. For a bog and splash job. Or you could sand all the paint off it and polish it.

I have no experience with provari but if it's stainless you couldjust sand the paint off it (best to use straight lengthwise strokes when sanding for best end result). Use decreasingly fine grades of sandpaper till it's all gone and so it won't leave deep scratch marks from the paper - start with as fin a grade as will remove the paint. Then add a nice brushed finish by linishing it with a scotchbrite pad - no padding. Use a green kitchen scourer for high grain or use a white coloured scourer (from hardware store) for a finer grain. With the scourer finishing, use long straight lines for a neat effect. You could either go lengthwise or widthwise.
If/when I buy a Provari, I would remove the polished surface straight away in this fashion.
