VV = Good, VW = Bad?

Not looking for an argument here, more of an education. I love variable wattage, to me it's just like variable voltage with the bonus that it will automatically adjust for me as my coil deteriorates. Sure, I have to make the odd minor adjustments for different juices and different ohm cartos, but these are minor, one click up our down. With variable wattage I'm always pretty close to my perfect vape.

I've seen variable wattage referred to as redundant, a fad, gimmicky and unnecessary. Again, I'm not looking for a fight, just need to know if there's something I'm missing. I always thought variable wattage was the next logical step up from variable voltage, what am I missing here?

there is room for both, there is also a lot of mods that have both

I prefer wattage myself but i don't mind my provari not having one.

I'm with you on that. I find my VV too hot on a LR stardust at the lowest voltage on my VV yet fine at a higher voltage on the twist.. Definitely a current (watts) issue! Hence me putting my name on the Groove list!

Yeah, there's definitely room for both. I can especially understand people who love their ProVari, it's obviously a fantastic device that delivers variable voltage better than any other device on the planet. I don't think that's an argument against variable wattage though, more of a pat on the back for ProVape for doing variable voltage so well.

Vw is like driving automatic car and Vv is like manual. Some people prefer automatic car including myself but lots of car enthusiast think differently. Both gets you to final destination the same but some just prefer one over another. That's who we are

I think I'm getting it, I totally understand that analogy. I've driven autos most of my life, makes sense that I love VW :-)

i think most of the people who say its gimicky have not got one.
its a far more logical variable to adjust for vaping. i cannot think of a better one.

the analogy i gave the other day was if VV was a throttle, VW is cruise control.

I'd rather have VW, its not as dependent on the changing of an attys resisitance, it SHOULD just give the same vape every time.

    And no damned error messages........

You don't "drive" an automatic car, you merely steer it. A fully automatic car(which is currently being researched & developed) doesn't even need the "driver" to steer it. Driving in practical terms means taking control of the car, with an auto, you simply are not taking full control IMO.

As far as the analogy relates to vaping, I think it is probably a good one, although not all VW devices are the same, just as not all VV devices are the same. Some devices need more attention than others, be they VV, VW or mech mods.
While on the subject of mech mods, I think these are the first examples of a VW device, although they are unregulated, since they supply volts & amps according to the needs of the coil (in ohms).
If you could use a battery in your mech mod that supplied 5v max 3A max, then compared that to a batt thanb could (like a 18650) supply 4.2v max 10a max, the vape would be the same from a freshly charged batt, the watts won't change, what will change is the charge in each batt. & that is what will determine the vape time from each type of batt.
So in essence, a mech mod is an unregulated VW device
