    Nichrome is poo.
    Kanthal is not poo.

Although, for the price and variety, the purchase would give you the opportunity to practise winding and resistance result for the different sizes/gauges.

Yep. Had me very confused that it seems Kanthal is a company brand. Thanks for your input anyway CMB. Sure somebody will step in to show their technical genius soon.

Ok, there's material differences, literally and figuratively. Anecdotal feedback from the interwebz informs us that Kanthal is superior for producing the curly lil fuckers, gives a longer life and 'tastes' better. Nichrome, or Nikrothal performs less well in all these dimensions.

I'd still buy that lot, I'd rather a perfect coil of the right size and resistance over a superior wire that is less optimium.

Kanthal seems to hold it's form alot better too it seems from reading up varies sites. Whereas Nichrome seems to stretch a lil and this could mean the difference between a good coil and a bad coil.

Although you are welcome to try it and give us your feedback! For 15 bucks that's **** all really!
