    It's a government institution, they have duty of care for workers and inmates.
    Smoking is dangerous to your health.
    Therefore, they have to ban it.

    Smart or no, it's the law.

    Smart would be to have Prison Vaper visitors and freebies.

    They get drugs in easily enough. In a prison near me the public used to throw tennis balls full of goodies over the gates LOL

    It's not the first jail to do this. Our prisons now are smoke free, though there are still outside areas for smoking in some of them atm. I think ours are aiming for completely smoke free by 2015 or something.

    Black market smokes can cost up to $300.

    Vaping would be a good thing for jails.

    I don't like this comment from that article..

    "This ban aims to create a healthier Territory population with the harmful effects of smoking being widely known."

    That's almost as good as thinking anyone will come out of jail rehabilitated. Does the idiot who said this think he will turn all the cons into health nuts, and they in turn will pass the favor on and spread the healthy message once outside again? Moron.
