What a narrow minded and naive view. Yes, the industry should be regulated to ensure the products are as safe as reasonably possible. But to argue the banning of ecig's on the basis of addiction is flawed unless the banning of cigarettes occurs at the same time.

    BAN E-CIGS!

But don't ban tobacco cigarettes, just pay lip service to how bad they are.

Unfortunately our Governments have looked to the US as they are the almighty and we have in history followed suite. That is where we should really be concerned. We can sit on the side lines and make comment to how pathetic these possible laws are in a distant land, but the ripple effect can and will, as history has shown, affect us in the land and fences we make comment.

I feel although this article and stance is laughable.

We really need to be vigilant and take a positive role in and assuring to help control our own destinies in respects to our own laws.

it would be good to support all american and UK efforts as well contacting our local mp's and supporting any australian efforts.

Opdee is right. What happens in the US and UK to some lesser degree, is what will happen here.

I think the EU will take a more tolerant stance, and maybe over time this stance will pervade other nations but until then vaping is under threat in our nation.

i don't want to be forced to smoke instead of vape. I prefer vaping. I'm going to let my politicians know this.

I simply do not understand people's attitudes in regards to the whole addiction issue. I smoked because, among other things, I was addicted to (or at least dependant on) nicotine. I vape because of the same thing, but by getting my "fix" thru vaping instead of smoking, I am causing myself a whole lot less harm.

not long after I started vaping, I was in the chemist, explaining it to one of the pharmacy assistants who was interested in switching. the pharmacist was listening with great interest. he ended up piping up and saying "but aren't you worried about getting addicted?". I just said "I was a smoker for over 30 years. I was already addicted".

the inability of people to understand that it's not a bad thing to switch to a healthier alternative bamboozles me.
