MHRA guarantees endorsement of BAT's ecig

Current e-cig users are also infuriated with the decision to regulate these products as medicine. “I am no more taking a medicine now by using an e-cig than I was when I smoked cigarettes” one vaper said. “This regulation will ban the variation in these products that makes them so successful. It will deprive users of choice, flavours and performance and will ultimately drive e-cig users back to tobacco and increased risk of smoke related disease.”

Anger has been directed at the MHRA which receives its majority of funding through approving medical products. Criticism has been made that implementing regulation advised by specialists with vested interests in pharmaceutical companies who are losing money from this technology is a poor way to make policy. Excessive regulation will restrict availability of devices that aim to tackle the world’s biggest cause of avoidable illness – tobacco smoking which kills over 5 million people yearly.

That is just sad. Money more important than saving lives to these people. Disgusting.

BAT is set to launch a new product in 2014 which Erik Bloomquist confirmed will be endorsed by the MHRA. This will allow them to make claims about the devices benefits, such as low health risk compared to tobacco cigarettes. “(The MHRA endorsement) will be a turning point in the product’s popularity” he predicts.
Actually, I kind of think it will prove the opposite, certainly amongst young smokers. Young people in general are not concerned with health (or at least this would appear obvious as it applies to young smokers), indeed young smokers are likely to be turned off by the health claims and would be unlikely to see anything attractive in using a medical device.

It is hedonism that attracts young people to smoking not health. To not understand this is to doomed yourself to failure. But BAT most likely already knows this and hence is looking for a win win. Sideline your competition whilst at the same time offering young smokers a much more dangerous product that has none of the health strings attached. Win, win for BAT.

What a croc of bullsh*t, who are they to tell us what device we can use and what juice. If they're going to do that they should have to eliminate rollie cigarettes and cut out all but one brand of tailors

all the more reason to let them know we disagree.

If enough vaper's boycott the new products and use their own pv's they might get the picture...

we also need to let them know we disagree.

Why are Nicolites able to make health claims ?

By using an Electronic Cigarette, you’re completely removing all the health risks associated with tobacco.

Electronic Cigarette, E Cigarette, Electric Cigarette - Nicolites

Perhaps they've already got the nod from the MHRA.
