E-cigarette nearly sparks fire at Phoenix apartment

So we're back to exploding batteries ........ again.

"I was thinking, 'Yeah, I'm going to save money, I'm going to be healthier, it's going to work out," Shopshire said. "We ended up putting our lives in jeopardy."

"I think I'm done smoking, in general, because the regular cigarette can kill me via cancer and this can kill me and my family by a fire," he said.

And you know something, if he walked in front of the bus, and not behind it when crossing the road, he could get injured.

What a twat.... nearly all these 'exploding' batteries are from people leaving them to charge overnight or in cars, all unattended. I mean how dumb to leave a battery of any sort charging overnight while you sleep...

Battery needs to be handled with care. Most of the accident caused in electronics failure were by human errors. Accidents can happen if people stop being responsible and being more wisely. Don't blame e-cig or make it sound top puppy. It is just a peice of electronic equipment just like your home torch light.

I had a mobile phone that completely melted on my desk, I left it on charge for 4 days, lucky for me it was sitting in an marble ashtray I think we should ban mobile phones and anything with rechargeable batteries, (not), or we could just be a little more thoughtful with our stuff
