ACA report: Laser "quit smoking" therapy

There was an article tonight on A Current Affair about a laser treatment that is supposed to help people quit smoking. It's clearly based on the same idea as acupuncture and even the company that does it admits they don't know the science behind it (hint: there isn't any).

The two most interesting points was hearing people say the hardest part was the first 5 days (exactly how long it takes for the nicotine to leave your system) and cost $600!!!

So a media report on another product that really doesn't work (beyond the placebo effect) yet e-cigs keep getting a bad rap despite more and more evidence to suggest the success rates leave NRT for dead.

    Typical.

Their website claims a "double blinded study" shows their treatment works. Only one I could find on a quick search is a study done in Singapore that showed "no effect". I've emailed them to ask of which study THEY are referring to. Reckon I'll get a response?

Lolz, it's GOT to be paid advertising. I posted a comment about e-cigs (similar to the hypnotherapy comment) and it got removed.
My wife posted about the Singapore clinical trial and that got removed too.
