ABC Breakfast Report on Ecigs Today

Not sure if anyone posted this already . . .

Robert West, Director of Cancer Research UK speaking to Fran Kelly on ABC Breakfast:

    http://mpegmedia.abc.net.au/rn/podca...31126_0617.mp3

    Some of the highlights:

    • Nicotine is not the toxic substance that kills you
    • Propylene Glycol has been much studied and shown to be safe
    • 100 or more times safer than cigarettes
    • The choice is to inhale nicotine in a form that will kill you or in a form that is not going to kill you

Best report on the subject I have heard to date!

Thanks for posting second_chance, I'll be playing that to my mum at xmas time. She's been getting all concerned about me because of the negativity media publicity of late.

What I don't think he got right about the "deaths from smoking" part is, sure people may die from smoking earlier than they would have but eventually even if they didn't die from smoking they will die.
So it's not going to save "millions of deaths per year", what it will do is save millions of early deaths per year due to smoking related causes.

    Very good media release though

That was awesome! If I were still a smoker and heard that, I would be madly googling now to try to find out more about vaping with a view to give it a go.
