In defence of E-cigarettes - Jeff Stier- National Center for Public Policy Research

    In Defense of E-Cigarettes

    From the article.....
"Those who support the bans rely on the flimsy argument that vaping (since users inhale vapor, not smoke), "normalizes" smoking because people may think vaping is smoking. That's nonsense."

I think these wankers that have these positions really need to undergo a psychopathy test before being able to hold office. Banning charity food donations to food shelters as well, this idiot has a few roo's loose in the top paddock.

Its a power trip for this type of person, you see them all the time in these sorts of jobs, look at Chimpy over here! In our society we have a system of rewarding psychopaths and narcissists, and then whinging when they show their true colours. Politics is a prime example of this.

America is full of authoritarian bullies in their hierarchy, and when those bullies are picking on the poor and defenceless, most Americans can happily ignore them, as soon as "they" are effected, its whinge time. Its happening in Australia as well, as people become more selfish, and self absorbed, and the "I'm alright Jack, so f*ck the rest of yah's" attitude infects our country. The fact that we have an Abbott led, far right, bordering on fascist government, is testament to this attitude becoming far more prevalent here. The days of the fair go are long gone in Australia, except in the minds of those who don't want to face the truth.

I doubt very much that we have a far right bordering on fascist government at all . Unless of course you're a far left bordering on socialist person , who might perceive it that way.

My truth is different. I haven't seen Abbott do anything detrimental in regard to nicotine or methods of their delivery. In fact the only thing this new government has done is implement Labor policies in regard to tobacco tax. I'm not a liberal voter but let's not turn this into a shit fight against a particular flavour of political party. I'll probably look back and say Abbott wasn't great but then again I say that about all past Politicians regardless of their party.

I'm more in the middle, but I lean towards socialism more than conservatism. I didn't grow up thinking one or the other was "evil", I grew up thinking there should be a balance. At the moment there is no balance. Being the child of refugees does influence how I perceive things politically, and in a societal sense though. I don't look at this government with rose coloured glasses on, or the previous government if it comes to that. The ALP took nanny state policies to a new low. Again though, it was more about taxes and surpluses than it has ever been about health and welfare. This government has decided to implement the worst of these excesses.

Part of greater control by the narcissists and psychopaths in power, is to polarise the political and social system, when we are fighting each other, we don't notice so much what they get up to.

Nobody is turning anything into a shit fight Donna, if it upsets you to read views that don't agree with your own, just ignore them.

Thanks spud, just trying to keep the thread on topic, partisan politics could probably be kept out of this thread IMO.
