    In an ideal world...

I hope this doesn't upset anybody, or turn ugly.

I've been reading a bit into political stuff and have decided for the most part it is not for me, I'm happy to go with the flow.

But I want to get a sense of people's ideal balance of liberty and regulation. personally, I think our liquids should be mandated to have ingredient lists, even stated as numbers that need prior knowledge, and a tax or other measure to deter non-smokers from taking up a cig replacement in vaping, and stricter regulation to under 18's. [I know it's not evil, but given the choice if my kid who never smoked would not do either or take up vaping i know which i'd pick]

The way I see it I should be able to go to woolies, or failing that a specialty store, buy 50ml of menthol 18mg juice, pay my tax on it and vape, not stress if my order from china will get here on time etc

Prefer not too much regulation and I prefer the self regulated market.. I would hate to be paying these prices for something that has been watered down and has no effect .. am on 30 to 36mg under nanny state regulation I would be completely screwed

I'd prefer not have vaping as NRP. I see it as liquor store, tobacco counter, e-stuffs counter/store in a similar vein.

I can see where the panic comes from both with authorities dealing with new emerging substances all the time every week for synthetic drugs and with vapers/saved smokers worried it'll all hit the fan

Personally I dont see the point.. all it will do is push prices up, water it down, limit the flavour availiability and turn people off .. others might see it differently

Us has non-smokers taking up vaping just quickly on that point, i've been left wondering what a 16 year old knows about reviewing an rda on youtube a few times

And some vapers want the list, as evidenced by other threads here

i would have no problem paying standard gst for any vape stuffs.
child proof bottles and ingredients lists for juices.
    no sales under 18.
existing safety/quality standards (as in for example, cookware and other things for cooking/preparing stuff for human consumption, etc) for materials in tanks, etc.
existing safety standards for batteries and chargers.
nic restricted to 100mg/ml with no restrictions on the amount purchased.
able to be purchased at general retail outlets.
advertising to alert current smokers to the fact of a harm reduction alternative.

Personally I think GST is enough tax. Food type regulation (ie ingredients listed), and under ACL, all vendors must not sell something they know to be harmful and all that goes along with it. I could go on for hours about the Australian Consumer Law but basically it amounts to common sense and that you cannot be ripped off money wise or safety wise from a vendor.

    Edit: and what kay said

The old saying goes becareful what you wish for you just might get it... I wonder how many will pay for the newly found health kick in the long run.. as for me am just doing what I need to and holding on tight whilst people put this into play .. Personally after seeing the twists and turns in the EU ... I would rather not .. but am sure the other platform will be fought louder as it is so much more financially viable then from where I stand
