Robert west's smoking toolkit is credited with that finding in the op article.

    Very positive all round.

Lol. Nah, realised I might have seemed rude just saying it like that so added the feel good message at the end.

1/3 smokers trying them when they attempt a quit is huge. Wait till ecigs have a few more years evolution. Then even more than 20percent will be successfull with them too!

So far as articles go this one is a beauty though and recommend all read it. Paraphrasing the last para of the summary/intro; it may now be unethical to not suggest ecigs over otc nrt to people who want to quit smoking.

I would love to see what the stats are for Australia, but believe it would probably be around the same sort of ratio. I can see the beginnings of the AVF political party, gosh, if some unemployed bum in Gippsland can become a member of government why can't one of us and then we can start throwing some weight around to support the cause. With the number of members on AVF we could have a member in nearly every seat. Any volunteers to head the AVF Political Party? Maybe this is something they should think about in the UK instead of putting effort into rallying their MEP's for the cause, especially seeing those kinds of numbers.
