Call for ban on e-cigarettes in public places

Anyone else seen children vaping in the playground ? LOL
They're really flailing around now, trying to find any angle ... some great comments.

But he added: “As a GP I have had a couple of parents concerned saying that their children had been spotted in the playground with e-cigarettes. Surely that’s not right.

“Whenever I have spoken to e-cigarette manufacturers and representatives they are promoting these as a nicotine replacement therapy as something to help smokers quit.

“But that really doesn’t explain children who are not smokers using these in the playground. It seems the latest fashion and there is no regulation so they can pick them up from shops without any control.”

Dr Thomson said he was concerned that the devices could become an “access product” with children getting used to the image of having an e-cigarette and then going on to use tobacco.

“The use of e-cigarettes has the potential to re-normalise smoking,” he said.

When I decided to stop smoking i used a nicotine inhaler as approved by my GP. It has the same ingredients as an e-cig which I now use, so why the fuss?

Are there people out there who derive some sort of pleasure from banning everything they themselves don't wish to do?

    Enough of this nonsense.

This from the main story "But he added: “As a GP I have had a couple of parents concerned saying that their children had been spotted in the playground with e-cigarettes. Surely that’s not right."

Children have always tried things they shouldn't. That is part of learning and growing up. They play with matches, pull the dog's tail, touch the hot plate, etc, etc. In each case, the responsible supervising adult is expected to deal with it, NOT call for bans on matches, dogs or hot plates. So why are E-Cigs different?

I have, my teenage kids and their friends do. They are sold as Shisha pens at the local Delis. They started vaping before me!
