Vince and inertiacreeping on Triple J Hack tonight

    Hack | triple j

The program starts at 17h30 AEST, so for WA listeners it will be 15h30, and WA listeners need to stream from the Triple J website.

They are prerecording an interview with inertiacreeping, and will have Vince on live with someone from the opposition (don't know who).

They are also going to take calls.

    Vince needs some help:

    1. There will be tough questions. Can everybody use this thread to list some of the common misconceptions of PVs and a radio suitable rebuttle?
    2. Counters to common arguments made by the other side.
    3. Hand pick a few studies that Vince can bring with him to the radio station that show promising results for harm minimisation

Also I mentioned there are calls, so feel free to fight the good fight.

    Edit: 'tonight' means 2014-04-22
    Edit 2: spelling

ROYAL COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS ( March 2014)

Despite the controversies, it is clear that e-cigarettes are far less hazardous than is tobacco. With more than a million UK smokers using them to help to cut down or quit smoking, they are proving to be valuable harm reduction and cessation products and could make a substantial contribution to reducing the burden of death, disability and poverty currently caused by tobacco smoking. Health professionals should embrace this potential by encouraging smokers, particularly those disinclined to use licensed nicotine replacement therapies, to try them, and, when possible, to do so in conjunction with existing NHS smoking cessation and harm reduction support. E-cigarettes will save lives, and we should support their use.

I will 100% gaurantee Chimpyboy (Hi buttface) is reading every single thread on here including this one.

He is also very, very good at what he does. If you're not utterly prepared and brilliant, he will eat you alive.

    The Anti-E-Cigarette Conspiracy (March 2014)

Why do bodies concerned with public health want to block smokers’ best chance of quitting?
By Gilbert Ross (Gilbert Ross, M.D., is medical director of the American Council on Science and Health.)
E-cigarettes have the potential to save millions of lives, and those who would impede smokers’ access to them — or to truthful information about them — are, in fact, killing smokers.

E-cigarettes and the marketing push that surprised everyone

A worldwide survey of more than 19000 e-cigarette users performed by our group found that 80% of participants quit smoking, while cigarette consumption went down from 20 to 7 cigarettes per day (median values) in those who continued to smoke (unpublished data)
