JERRIL RECHTER: Liquid nicotine is illegal to purchase in Australia and so it's coming in via predominately online sales and you can buy it online if you have a medical certificate.

    WRONG

How is the headline of that article appropriate to the article? I thought oh here we go what will these guys have to say. Then the story isn't that bad. I don't even think editors / producers read / watch the ecig articles.

Surely there must be data about the full time conversion of smoking to vaping around by now? Extrapolate this to current disease / economic cost of tobacco and you would have evidence of the positive social effect of vaping. ie: xxx number of lives saved and xxx$$ saved in health care costs since introduction of vaping.

Am telling you straight PH do not want vaping to succeed, any research that comes out they will try to discredit. They want to denormalise the 'smoking action' and this fks up their game.

Notice in this story they said vaping without nic was just fine and then go onto detail Vince's WA case where he was selling hardware and liquid without nic, it made no sense.

PH has shifted their focus to nicotine now and pretty much stated being 'addicted' to anything is bad mkay.

Nic addiction in ecigs is a moot point as no conclusive study on high addiction potential with nic in isolation (without tobacco). in fact studies have said nrt is not addictive and besides is an addiction that doesn't do you a lot of harm a bad thing, look at coffee etc.

Clive Bates predicted this would happen 14 years ago.

Nicotine will continue to be widely used in society and many will be addicted, but the risk to users will be reduced—at least the option to reduce risk will be available. Concern about “addiction” rather than “disease” will become the defining reason not to use nicotine.
