Alberto Alemanno -international law and regulation expert article

Thought this article was interesting Electronic cigarettes --The future or the end of smoking

    Alberto Alemanno
EU Law Expert Calls for Regulatory Policy on E-Cigs to be Guided by Scientific Evidence, not by Ideology

"Future regulatory policy on e-cigarettes and other alternatives to tobacco should be guided more by scientific evidence, i.e. how these products score as compared to conventional tobacco products, than by an ideological and revanchist approach against Big Tobacco. This is especially the case should e-cigarettes prove capable of reducing toxic exposure and help individual smokers to quit."

Seems he still needs more educating, but he is on the right track..
Its not so much many Governments needs more study, its more like they need more time to think of a strategy in making money out of it..

I see a lot of writeups where authors say electronic cigarettes are expressly prohibited in Australia- like Alberto alemanno claims. Can anyone show me any government legal sites that state this is so?? I dont seem to be able to find any legislation to support this

Sounds like Alberto Alemanno does not realise that Australia has a Federal legal system, as he fails to distinguish between Australia and States within Australia (the latter would have jurisdiction over this issue).
    Cheers, Mad
