    A worried vaper.

It is very worrying all these articles being published about banning ecigarettes or making them medicing and enforcing tough restrictions. Is there anything we can be doing as aussie vapors?

You could make an appointment with your local member of parliament, and also send your personal story with vaping to the people who are influential in trying to have them banned, and also the ones who support vaping.

There is the appeal against the WA court ruling banning the sale of vape gear. That needs as much support as it can get.

There is lots of information on the internet, it's worth doing some reading to get educated on what's happening and what you can do to help prevent it.

There are a few people getting an association for Australian vapers started, the thread about it is stickied in this section of the forum. They could use some help too.

And parts for each atty, like insulators, ceramic cups, springs, screws, o rings.
I stock up around 5 of each part for each atty.

    You can:

    A) stick your head in the sand and do nothing - but make sure you stock up with enough supplies for vaporgeddon and beyond. You won't help anyone else doing this, but at least you will be covered. That's the main thing, right?

    B) Get behind the WA appeal. At least something is happening, and someone is fighting for vapers rights. If there is a positive outcome in this case, it will certainly benefit all existing, and more importantly, future vapers, in Australia.

    C) Go resurrect the ruins of what was once going to be the AVA - Australian Vapers Association. But if you do this, prepare for a long fight of not only fighting the powers that be, but also other vapers who like to stay firmly in the A) camp. As long as number one is looked after, who cares about anyone else, right? But if you are a strong person with plenty of passion, and spare time, you can certainly make it happen. It is long overdue, and needs to be the very vocal, very public and loud voice that is out there and counteracting all the lies, half truths and damn skewed statistics that the boffins who care about public health (an oxymoron if there ever was one) spew at every available turn.

Don't listen to the anti-rhetoric about not poking bears. While people were definitely not poking bears (look at the timelines) the dept of health in WA were, unknowingly to vapers at the time, busting legitimate vaping vendors for doing the same as every other vendor. In black SUV's on dawn raids no less!

JenJ has the most sensible suggestions on this thread. Best thing to do is keep an open mind, read between the lines of anything you find on the net, and don't take anything at face value.

There are your options OP. The hammer will come down on vaping, of that I have no doubt. It might be a ban on importation of nic, it may be more vendors in other states being targeted (this will happen if Vince loses, as there will be a precedent set) It may even be medicalisation of vaping, where your only choices will be to go to a doctor and get a script to buy overpriced products in a choice of mint or strawberry - but it will be in a measured dose so we will all be safe from overdosing! And no children will be at risk, cos we have to think of them!

What existing vapers should be striving for is for the DIY market to retain what freedoms it has right now. The freedom to import a personal amount of nic, and hardware, the freedom for vendors who have spent a lot of time and money setting up stores in Australia to not be shut down. The freedom to basically continue on as we are.

The boffins can go and medicalise their own products, their overpriced shitty cigalikes, and let the war be about those, because as long as those products are available and put out by big pharma, the govt will still get a cut of the $$ (from the NRT-CIG merry-go-round) If they still make enough money, they can leave those of us on 2nd and 3rd gen devices alone. But they need to be steered in the right direction for this to happen, and if nobody is there to stand up for this segment of the vaping world, and voice the alternatives, then it could all be taken away.

If vaper's don't stand up for their rights, why the hell would anyone else?
